Please read before purchasing!
Most important things I think you need to know about this player after spending a good few weeks with it: - If the order of the songs is funny, that's because the player shows them in order of the files being transferred. Download a "FAT DRIVE SORTER" (can get on Mac or Windows), and this will reorder the files properly by file name. - Can take a few seconds to switch songs when you use the file browser - this can be quite long (almost 5 seconds for me). - No gapless playback, maybe 1 second in between. - MAX NUMBER OF SONGS: 8192 (even if you have space for more on the memory card, this is the utmost max that will be displayed) - Max SD card: 256GB, it cannot read above 256GB memory cards, and people have had better speed with 128GB or 64GB cards. I use a 256GB card with ~6000 songs, and it gets slow. - Supports .lrc lyric files. Does not support .txt files, they don't show. Remove these if you have them, and also remove any .jpg cover files, etc., as this can cause the player to incorrectly select a different song from the one you want to play (ie, I select track 03, but 04 is played). - When transferring files from a Mac device, you can sometimes get ._temp files. Delete these, and they may speed up the player. Otherwise, if you can live with its quirks, it's a really good player with a retro feel, and it slows me down in this fast tech-touchscreen world. Battery life lasts me a few days of regular use, and I enjoy using my 4.4mm IEMs with them!

You can't go wrong here.....
In a world were we've been herded into an all in one smartphone based system, this little guy is a breath of fresh air. It's like going back to the early 00s when your MP3s came from a stack of CDs you'd ripped or infected the family PC with stuff you'd found on Limewire. You didn't need subscriptions, data, or a wifi connection Local content was were it was at. Things have changed a bit since them, mainly Audio Quality and file size. the 8GB this thing comes with is great, you can store a bunch of music or books on there, but you can also slip a micro sd card into it (up to 256gb) to literally carry WEEKS of listening. For something incredibly small and light (it's about as large and heavy as a box of matches) it runs for a good 12+ hours. SnowSky claim 15 hours of playback but this is likely with low screen brightness etc. so in the real world you'll probably charge this maybe once a week with a couple of hours a day listening time- ideal if you're commuting. To use you've got buttons and menus- like I said, back to the 00s, so no touch screen. They aren't simple menus either, they're nested and you have to go down a few levels to get into some option lists and functions like the EQ settings. Even a month or so on I'm still having to think about what I'm doing and not able to get by on memory yet. The more complicated functionality might be a deal breaker for some but I'm loving the more mindful experience and the tactile feedback from the buttons. It's easy to load up with audio and supports may file formats inc the new gold standard FLAC. it's literally drag and drop from your PC. This is how you set your playlists up too, you just group tracks into a folder and transfer the folder to the Echo Mini- it doesn't support playlists transferred from your PC annoyingly, I'm hoping some day a FW update will fix this, but until then grouping tracks in a 'playlist folder' and is the best workable solution.Ive also just discovered it will display the song lyrics when the appropriate LRC file is in the same folder as the source tracks which is pretty cool! The screen is so-so. In bright sunlight it can be difficult to read even on the highest brightness setting despite the fiddlyness I love this thing and cant get over how little it cost compares to other DAPs on the market. As a final thought I would highly recommend hunting down one of the official cases for it, it adds a really premium feel to the DAP and makes if a million times more robust. I don't worry about this clattering around in my pocket or bag now.

Solid performer for the cost
Does exactly what it says on the tin. For the money you get decent bluetooth capability to play to a speaker set, and a solid if not spectacular sound. It lasts several train journeys on one charge, and I would recommend the leather case to keep it protected. The display is simple enough to navigate, given that most of the time it is either play or pause plus off that gets the most usage. Want an all singing all dancing MP3 player, you can pay 8 times as much? Want music on the train or long journeys so you don't flatten the phone. Then this works a treat.

Fiddly but fun
It takes a little patience to load the songs and get used to the operating system but one you’re set, it’s a great little machine with a lovely sound. No web connection means it’s just you and your albums. It’s great to get away from Spotify algorithms and listen to music how I used to. Heartily recommended.

Owe your music again
Fed up of subscription? Deffo go this route. Snowsky is a decent size, great sound quality and a nice design throwback. It would be cooler if it was mental but the plastic build quality is still good enough

EASE OF USE | LISTENING EXPERINCE
This is an amazing product! I had no issues with moving all my music to the Echo Mini. The sound is amazing and I love being able to have a separate device for my music! No more money being used on a service and my listening and attraction to music has changed completely. Overall, the ease of just converting a file to MP3 and dropping it into the folder....that easy. Now, I get nostalgia from doing this because I was born in the 2000s. I recommend Snowsky Echo Mini for any music enjoyers who want to separate their devices. I have been using my MoonDrop Aria 2 IEMS for my listening experience and it's been wonderful. I haven't used the Bluetooth because I always just plug mine in.

Great item for mp3 beginners
This was a perfect gift for someone that I know is learning about curating music and playlists. The quality is amazing for a beginner, and they were very happy with the retro look of the device. The screen size is small but depending on your file you can at least see the album cover art. Also it defaults to a running cassette tape image. The Bluetooth works great, in the structure seems durable for a young adult.

A nice novelty item
The Echo Mini is a fun novelty item and a bit of a disappointment. Personally, I don't mind the menus are a bit slow and tedious to navigate as I normally just shuffle play certain genres and don't touch it again unless I want to to change the volume or skip a track. The disappointment comes from the fact that despite this saying it supports up to a 256GB SD card, it really can't handle a large library of music. At a certain point, it just won't load songs if you have too many on there. I realize it's a cheap player, but it'd be nice if the expanded storage capacity wasn't falsely advertised on their website. Not to mention it can be a pain to find the firmware updates for this thing on their website. That said, if you just have a small library of music and want a retro-looking device, this player is great. The fact that it comes with both a 3.5mm and a balanced output is pretty impressive. The battery life is also great and doesn't passively drain too fast. I never tried the Bluetooth connection, but I don't know why you'd want to use wireless headphones with a device like this anyway. For a novelty item, it's great for the price. But don't expect to use this as a full-fledged portable mp3 player.

Physical Buttons FTW!
I've been using Sandisk Sansa Clips for nearly 20 years now. I don't like using my phone to listen to music, and I like having physical buttons so I can operate the device without looking. The batteries on my old Sandisk players are fading so I've been looking for a modern replacement. FiiO has a good reputation in the audio world, and this one has physical buttons. First and foremost, the audio quality is great for a portable DAP. It's more flat and neutral compared to the Sansa Clips I had been using. The battery life and storage space are also superior. The one gripe I have is that volume control, fast forward/rewind, and next/previous all use the same two buttons. This takes some getting used to, but I get less and less annoyed by it every day. It would have been a huge improvement to have separate volume control buttons. Navigating the menus is also very easy and intuitive. On a final note, I'm old enough to have grown up using a cassette walkman. The look and form factor hits me right in the nostalgia bone.

I should have started buying FiiO products ages ago.
This was my first FiiO product. I got it for my niece, but played with it first. I was surprised to find that it is at least 2 times better than my Activo made by Astell & Kern. The functions are finicky and it doesn't like long track names and can only hold up to a 250 SD card. But for the price is fantastic.
